November's proving to be a month of classics in D.C. From A Christmas Carol to Camelot, old favorites are showing up quite a bit on local stages. Here's what's playing around town.

Signature Theatre is hoping to bring some new life into the musical Showboat. Step One: Lose the boat (Nov. 10).

The longest running off-Broadway show has made its way to Arena Stage: The Fantasticks. "Try To Remember" it's on its way (Nov 20).

Shakespeare's The Rape of Lucrece doesn't tend to get a lot of play compared to his other works. Taffety Punk are giving the tale a one night treatment (Nov. 2).

Keegan turns to Steinbeck for inspiration with Of Mice And Men (Nov 5).

In short there's simply not a more congenial spot than Olney Theatre, where they are staging Camelot (Nov. 8).

• It's baaaaack. Ford's Theatre is open again, meaning that's where A Christmas Carol will be (Nov. 23).
• The Kennedy Center hosts the award-winning August: Osage County (Nov. 24).

We Won't Pay! and both installments of Forum's Angels In America; Folger's Much Ado About Nothing, Woolly Mammoth's Full Circle, Theater J's Lost In Yonkers, and Scena's Poe Double Feature run through the end of November, and Jersey Boys at National Theatre extends into December.
