WMATA put out its November track work advisories today, and it looks like Metrorail riders on most lines are in for more of the weeknight delays that made October such a joy, not to mention plenty of weekend work to contend with. A brief outline of what to expect this month is below, but see the two advisories for full details.

Riders on the Red, Blue, and Yellow lines should plan to add at least 20 to 30 minutes of additional travel time to their schedules between 9:30 p.m. to midnight on Sunday to Thursday nights all month long, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26. Orange line riders will also need to look out for weeknight delays, but they'll be less frequent than other lines. As for the weekends, the same four lines will see the worst of the delays, while the Green line looks to be in the clear for planned track work delays this month.

Note that there is no track maintenance scheduled on Thanksgiving weekend.

Red Line: Sunday through Thursday nights, rail fastener replacement work will be conducted between Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore. Twenty-minute delays will be in effect in this area from 9:30 p.m. through midnight from Nov. 1-5; Nov. 8-12; Nov. 15-Nov. 19; Nov. 22-25, and Nov. 30.

Then from 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, to closing on Sunday, Nov. 15, there will be delays of up to 20 minutes between Friendship Heights and Van Ness-UDC; and from 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, to closing on Sunday, Nov. 22, there will be delays of up to 20 minutes between Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore.

Blue Line: Sunday through Thursday nights, work to replace concrete slabs underneath the rails will go on between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road-Seat Pleasant. Delays of up to 30 minutes will be in effect in this area from 9:30 p.m. to midnight from Nov. 1-5; Nov. 8-12; Nov. 15-Nov. 19; Nov. 22-25, and Nov. 30.

On two weekends, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8 and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, and Sunday, Nov. 22, weed trimming between Braddock Road and Van Dorn Street (Blue Line) and Huntington (Yellow Line) will cause 30 minute delays. All Blue and Yellow Line trains will operate to Huntington during these times. Metro will operate a special Blue Line shuttle train between Franconia-Springfield and King Street . At King Street, customers will be able to catch a Blue or Yellow Line train to Largo Town Center or Fort Totten.

Yellow Line: Sunday through Thursday nights, rail fastener replacement work will be conducted between Huntington and Braddock Road. Delays of up to 30 minutes will be in effect from 9:30 p.m. to midnight from Nov. 1-5; Nov. 8-12; Nov. 15-Nov. 19; Nov. 22-25, and Nov. 30.

Also refer to the Blue/Yellow line delays in the Blue Line description above.

Orange Line: Rail fastener replacement on the Orange line will only affect travelers from 9:30 p.m. to midnight between Sunday, Nov. 22, through Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Monday, Nov. 30. Trains will share one track on these dates only between Cheverly and New Carrollton, leading to delays of up to 20 minutes.

Then from 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, to closing on Sunday, Nov. 8, there will 30 minute delays between Cheverly and Stadium-Armory; and both from 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, to 10 a.m., on Sunday, Nov. 15 and from 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, to closing on Sunday, Nov. 22, there will be 20 minute delays between East Falls Church and Ballston-MU.
