Lululemon killer Brittany Norwood was sentenced to life in prison without a chance of parole at a Montgomery County court this afternoon, reports WJLA.

In November Norwood was convicted for the brutal killing of co-worker Jayna Murray at a Lululemon store in Bethesda.

According to the Post, defense attorneys pleaded for a chance at parole, but memos written by Murray's family seemed to leave the judge no option but to put her behind bars for life:

Norwood’s steadfast lies — “coupled with her lack of remorse” — speak to the “tremendous danger” Norwood would pose if released, Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy said in a sentencing memo.

Norwood’s family members too wrote impassioned memos to the judge, asking that she someday be given a chance at freedom. “I love my daughter more than words can say and I know she is worthy of a chance,” Norwood’s father, Earl Norwood, wrote.

So slow and brutal beating to death wasn't an option here, right?  Life it is, then.

I'm not super well versed in lawtalk (outside of birdlaw, of course), but "no chance of parole" does actually mean "no chance of parole" right?  She'll be in prison until she croaks, right?

Or until Haley Barbour grants her clemency.

Good job Maryland ... if only DC courts would follow your lead.

She's a good girl, turning her life around. She just got caught up with a group of bad yoga-ware-merchants, that's all.

Condolences to the Murray family. While this will not bring Jayna back, at least they will have closure.
  • Where am I & how to leave?
Edited: I'm a bit on edge. I prefer not to presume the state of mind of those in grief and wish other people would extend the same courtesy.

I know a lot of people wish this was a death penalty instead, but I like the idea of her waking up every morning for the next 40 years knowing she's never going to be free again.

If only the Apple store employees had sent a memo on Norwood's behalf.

What ever happened to those two half-wits anyway?

I know I would like to know what happened to them. I don't know how they live with themselves.

I hear DYRS hired them as guards at New Beginnings.

No, they're serving on Grays advisory board to DYRS.
